U.S. Oil Reserves: Imagine Paying Less than $1.00 for a Gallon of Gas

     Gas prices have undoubtedly sky rocketed over the last 10 years, this being a cause of  many different things whether it be the war in Iraq or presidential policies prohibiting the drilling of oil on our own land, the prices for a gallon of gas has gotten way to high. The thing that bothers me the most about this economic situation is that it could so easily be fixed yet our president is unwilling to help the economy with this issue. Instead he chooses to go overseas to other countries wasting our tax dollars and paying for the distribution of oil across the sea and also making the U.S. dependent on other nations.

     In the U.S. we own the largest untapped oil reserve in the WORLD. Yes, the world, we have more oil on our own land than all of the middle east COMBINED. The Rocky mountain contains an oil deposit beneath the surface that is estimated to contain between 1.5 and 1.8 TRILLION barrels of oil. To put in this in perspective for you Saudi Arabia has an estimated 267 billion barrels of oil residing in their country, yet we decide to take their oil. We have more oil than that in oil reserves located in North and South Dakota let alone the near 2 trillion lying underneath the rocky mountains.

     The only logical excuse for this in my opinion is that the U.S. is trying to use up all of the other countries resources so that in the end we will be self sufficient having everything we need, yet this excuse is not good enough for me at this current point in time. 

     If we were to drill on U.S. Soil for oil the American population would be as a little as 50 cents to a dollar for a gallon of gas. We would also be able to then sell oil to China  ultimately reducing the national debt while sustaining a sense of an economic homeostasis within the U.S. 

     The problem with the oil that's located underneath the Rocky Mountains is that it is shale oil. Shale oil is very difficult to make into the oil we use to power our engines and being that it is located under rock, even harder to drill for. Apparently it is said that it is an expensive process as well, but I think it really doesn't matter at all because the U.S. will make so much money from this that if anything went south we could just increase prices and taxes for export outside the country. 

     Another reason were not drilling under the rocky mountains is because of all the left wing liberals that are concerned about the environment and claim that it would damage the environment if we were to do this. Global Warming and that big scam is a whole different issue that I wont get into right now, but to wrap things up, I believe if this nation wants economic recovery we should start by drilling on our own soil and just watch as the price of gas drops by the dollars and the national deficit finally begins to decrease.

Mitt Romney: "You can't have any Illegals running on our property, I'm running for office for Pete's sake"

     On October 18, 2011 in the Republican Presidential debate hosted by CNN in Las Vegas, Nevada, Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney (Former Massachusetts Governor) responded to Rick Perry's statement on the allegation towards hiring illegal workers by saying he told the Lawn Care service, "You can't have any Illegals running on our property, I'm running for office for Pete's sake."

     Now I don't think Mitt Romney thought too hard about the words that came out of his mouth, because he gave viewers the idea that if he wasn't simply running for president, he would be fine hiring illegals. At first, I honestly thought that Mitt Romney was one of my top picks for our next president, but after hearing him say this I'm having second thoughts about the guy.

     Now don't get me wrong, I would be more than happy for him to be in office instead of Obama, but then again I'd also be more than happy having my 4 year old nephew run this country instead of Obama. However the government might take control of Spongebob if that were to happen but it would be beneficial actually having someone in office who takes the value of the dollar seriously. 

     But back to the subject at hand, The reason I feel Mitt Romney screwed up so bad, is that now I look at him to be not as honest a man that I thought. So what he's saying is that because he is running for office he can't have illegals working on his property, does this mean that if he weren't running for president he would still have the illegals working for him? It just doesn't make sense why he would say something like this. It just seems like he cares too much about his reputation which is actually starting to turn around and come back on him.

     I have a strong respect for the man on certain issues hes debated, yet I disagree other topics like Romney-Care for example, but if Mitt Romney really is this sneaky about things and keeping information from the American Public then should we really want to invite this man to run our country?

Should Marijuana be Legal?

     The topic of legalizing marijuana has become a very hot issue in today's society. People argue of its medical use as 13 states have already made it legal for medicinal purposes. However it seems odd to me how an illegal substance can be legal in a state yet illegal by federal law, it just creates a circus of chaos and un-organization and confuses the general population on such a critical and serious matter.

The government needs to do one of either 2 things in my opinion. They should either ban everything, making Alcohol illegal as well yet decrease the penalties for those in possession while increasing penalties to those distributing. I believe penalties for drug charges should include rehabilitation programs so that we can help people with these problems while at the same time stop wasting our federal tax dollars on sending these people to jail. I think some would argue however that this would not work because this country's banned alcohol before and it didn't work. Yet despite our past failures, we could move forward and make some solid positive changes towards our economy and country.

The second thing the Government Could do, is to just finally legalize marijuana, but tax the hell out of it. Economically this would actually be a good decision, but i feel that legalizing marijuana would have some destructive repercussions. People would become avid users of the drug and there would be more drivers on the road who are under the influence. I hate the thought of being on the road with someone who is not of sober mind because that puts me, my family, and my friends at a higher risk of an accident.

Nancy Pelosi: "Republicans Want Women To Die On The Floor"

       Rep. Nanci Pelosi today made the broad statement of saying that republicans want women to die on the floor because of Bill H.R. 358. 

       In case you don't know, this bill is over prohibiting  federal funds from being to used to cover any part of the costs of any health plan that includes coverage of abortion services. (I'll leave a link to the summary of the bill at the bottom of the webpage) 

       I quickly took offense not to the topic of the issue she was debating, but to her insubordinate claims of republicans without backing up her statement with fact. Anybody could say that, I could walk into the white house and say that "Obama is here to kill us all" (Maybe even true) but it wouldn't matter what i was saying unless i backed it up with fact. however if i were to walk into the white house claiming Obama is here to kill us all and explain it by saying facts about how he's skyrocketing the national debt spiraling our economy downward into a potentially period of time where our country will lie broken into pieces and be able to back that up with cold hard FACT, I might be able to get the attention of a few people. But Nanci Pelosi standing up there making a statement about republicans as a whole with insufficient information makes her look, in my opinion, to be ignorant and lacking interpersonal intelligence on how to convey herself with a less condescending attitude.

       The Bill itself I'm not going to get very much into because i have mixed feelings towards the issue. I see both sides of the debate yet if i were to vote i would probably be more towards the conservative side because of the following reasons

• I am a Christian, and being that, I believe that no life should be taken, because only God has the power to make that decision
• This bill would help save our Tax dollars because we wouldn't be having to give our tax dollars to teens who are getting abortions or women who just feel they're not ready for a child

I can also see the Liberal point of view on this issue however because I also believe that

• God is to judge and everyone should be able to make their own decisions on whatever they want as long as its not affecting other people
• I think its a terrible and horrid thing of women who have been raped or are of incest to have to deliver that child

       So I can see both sides of the debate, yet I stand strong in my belief that no person has the right to take another person's life, and this is the taking of another person's life.

   














Rep. DeGette is a Democrat who i feel did a MUCH better job in presenting her case on the bill than Nanci Pelosi. The Video of her speaking on the issue is above.

Obama Says Republicans Don't Want A Place Where People "No Matter What They Look Like" Can Succeed

    Today, Obama in an interview review over his American Jobs Act and stated a highly controversial statement, claiming that the republicans in the senate don't care about the unemployment rate on a rise, and the initiative to take action on helping those who are in need.

       Hearing Obama say this today, made me highly frustrated with the fact that he is so determined on passing a bill that is so unneeded in our economy right now.     It's shocking that he contains enough audacity to make such a broad statement condemning the republican party and republican members in the senate. In my opinion, wouldn't you agree that if he's trying to win the vote of these senators, he should try more to appeal and reason with them instead of attacking them? it seems more logical and professional for OUR PRESIDENT to have a little bit more respect for the government as a whole, EVEN republicans, and i believe it may be to much to ask, but wouldn't the mature way to handle a situation like this, be to try and step in the republicans shoes and try to see where there coming from when they don't agree with this $447 billion dollar bill? 

      There's a saying that goes like this "don't bite the hand that feeds you" and right now that is exactly what our president is doing and he's to naive to realize the extent of his actions towards "Trying" to pass this bill. Obama needs to step up and mature if he wants to actually try and help this country  towards recovery, yet he has showed us its more important to him to play golf, take vacations, and curse republicans, than to actually aid our economy, and country.

My Opinion on the American Jobs Act

           The American Jobs Act is a Bill that was written by our President, Barack Hussein Obama, with his "Attempt" at rebuilding the middle class, and putting teachers and workers back in the workplace while putting money in our pockets at the same time. It sounds great and in all honesty, the "Idea" of the American Jobs Act is a good IDEA, but that's all it is, and all it should be, an idea.

         So last I checked, the United States economy was at an all time high of about $14.8 Trillion Dollars, which is still on the constant rise because of the economic ignorance of our current president. Obama has lied straight to the faces of the Americans in which he claims he is trying to help in this current Jobs Act. Obama said that the American Jobs Act "wouldn't add a dime to the deficit" and yet it is a common known fact that the Bill would cost $447 Billion dollars. That's a little more than a dime in my opinion, and that would throw the Economy into a debt over $15 Trillion  dollars while only helping about 7% of 14 million unemployed Americans to find work. Obama has raised the national debt more in his 3 years of being president than the first 41 presidents combined.

            Now I'm not blaming the entire national debt on Obama, I'm simply pointing out his benighted approach towards healing our economy. The Bush Administration did not do the greatest of Jobs with the economy, but Bush was in office for 8 years, whereas Obama has been president for 3 and is already close to raising the national debt as much as Bush did.

           The Number one thing i don't understand about the Obama administration is how they complain about the National Debt, promise that they will decrease it, and yet they still want to waste our federal tax dollars on Ideas like the American Jobs Act. Obama is like and irresponsible teenager with a credit card. He spends someone else's money on whatever he wants, without realizing how far into debt he is. If you have bills to pay, you pay them. If you don't have enough money to pay your bills AND buy that new car, you don't buy the new car. its common budget sense, when your in debt, you cut spending. The only way this Nation is going to get out of debt, is to cut its spending.
